I have a faint brown stripe on my finger nail that has grown vertically with the nail... Any ideas??

I have done a bit of research and have read that it could be a nail mole and possibly cancerous!! Is this true??I have a faint brown stripe on my finger nail that has grown vertically with the nail... Any ideas??
Go to a health food store, they have free reference books. Look up your symptom and it will tell you what to do. I think you have several vitamin deficiencies. We just looked mine up .I have a dark spot in the middle of my nail and ridges across the nail I need 3 vitamins.Probably the same for you.I hope this helps.I do a lot of herbs.I have a faint brown stripe on my finger nail that has grown vertically with the nail... It might be a fungus. Need to go to doctor and see. If the doc says it is a fungus they will give you either a pill to take, a nail polish-like solution or cream to put on it. You can also use an athletes foot spray on it too (much cheaper than the other items). The only bad thing if it is a fungus takes for ever for it to go away.
