Fingernails don't heal because they're dead tissue, like hair. You have to wait for it to grow out. If I were in your situation I might visit a nail salon and see if they can put a wrap on the nail so it doesn't snag. yes, there is...go to your manicurist, and tell them you need a repair...show them where it is needed, and they should be able to take care of you...if you do a ';drop-in'; you might have to wait for a few minutes, until one of the nail technicians has a few minutes between appointments
IDK, I have had a split on one finger nail for probably 10 years. I have never been able to grow it out and start a perfect one. If it's just split and not missing, you might try some super glue? I just keep mine really short or it catches in things. Being a guy, that's easy.
There are some silk wraps you can buy in the drugstore and apply with nail glue. Apply it thinly and evenly, and then soak it in nail polish remover when the nail grows out and you want to remove it.

Where does a bumpy ridge running the length of my finger nail mean health wise?
About two years ago I noticed a small line or bumpy ridge growing the length of one of my finger nails. I've seen older people's finger nails look like this. What does it mean. My students would get excited on Monday to see what color my nails were for the week. I think that if you enjoy bright colors, you should wear them. Just get used to comments. :) People often stop me while shopping and ask me if they're my real nails and say they like the color. French manicures are fine, and if your job requires something more subtle, they're a great choice. Even with a French you can put very light glitter over the top to add a little detail.

They are a medium to long length and i use bright colors ( i also wear them) this week i have neon orange, last week was bright teal, iv had bright red, blue, green, pink, and iv added black or white polka dots, and everyday i go into work i have some woman and actually a lot of men pointing out how cool, pretty, or awesome my nails are. French nails a boring and common they never get complimented plus i hate French manicures. Every time i have a bright color my nails are in the spot light.
Most men LOVE red or French tips...any time my nails are done with French tips, my hubby goes bonkers for the sexiness of it all.
Jewels are really sexy lookng also!
The most important thing, besides your nails, is that you are clean and sweet smelling...that's sexier than fingernail polish

I damaged the top of my finger nail with a cuticle nipper and the layer are like splitting and is there anyway?
to fix it I really scared.Also I used sally hansen hard as nail thing and it kind of work.But is there any other way to fix it.
