Depends on what you did or put on the finger or toe nail. If nothing, then the little infection they show on TV living under the nail is a good guess. Also, some nail polish removers have a tendency to discolor you nails.
Well, u might of had bright or dark nail polish on with out having a base coat and a top coat and leaving in on after two weeks can cause that.. or maybe lack of nutrients.

DO you wear nail polish? I notice when I leave polish on for a long time it puts a tint on my nails like its soaked in after awhile it goes away or I buff them and its gone.
