How does one stop chewing ones fingers nails?

Any help to be given? How does one stop chewing ones fingers nails?
First, apply a nail strengthening solution (easily found at drugstores, I recommend Sally Hansen) to your nails. When that starts to take effect, your nails should be stronger and harder to bite, and therefore you can remember when you start and stop yourself in time. Next, keep your nails beautifully manicured. This will make you want to keep your nails intact, and will also help your nails catch your eye better when you start subconsciously raising your hand to your mouth. Pretty rings have the same effect. Also, apply a plain, unscented moisturizing lotion or cream to your hands daily. This will make your fingers taste unpleasant and help keep them out of your mouth. Finally, set goals and reward yourself-- buy a new bottle of nail polish for every week you don't bite your nails at all. By the end of a month, you should have it down! Regularly cut your nails. If you keep your nails short, there would be nothing to be chewed on! If you are a girl, try painting your nails too.
get acrylics. They look great. There are too many things in life to do rather than worry about this little habit.
put something that tastes utterly gross on your nails
Try chewing gum. Anything that takes the place of your fingernails. Or you can tape your fingers or put something that taste nasty on your nails.
I put clear fingernail polish on my nails, that made them thicker, and harder to bite. Eventually i got to where i could control when i bit my nails, and slowly my nails started growing
