That little white arc on finger nails...?

I've noticed that SO many people have those little white arcs on their finger nails, but not ME! What's up with that? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? That little white arc on finger nails...?
Yes, it is called the 'lunula'. It is located at the base of the nail but still lies under the nail. It is not actually white but only appears so when seen through the nail.

The lunula is most noticeable on the thumb, and not everyone's lunula is visible, which is common and normal so don't worry ! Here is a link to wikipedia, now you can relax.

If you are talking about the one at the base of your finger, near the flesh and knuckle, it is called a moon. I only have them on my thumbs. It's the root of the fingernail.
